Freedom Dreaming Design Camp
We had a wild week of design at NorthStar Church of the Arts! Local artists, architects, and designers worked with DPS 6th-8th graders to explore the principles of Freedom Dreaming. Students spent the week learning the tools and process of design guided by the question, ‘What is the beauty you want to see in the world?’

Dream Builder & Black History Month Exhibition
We had a wonderful time with Northside Elementary students at their school wide Black History Month Exhibition. We learned about world celebrated architect, Phil Freelon, FAIA, and his design of the National Museum of African American History & Culture. The students created imaginative works of art and architecture with Legos.
Kwame Alexander & Dare Coulter at Northside Elementary School
We were thrilled to host poet, educator, publisher and NYT best selling author, Kwame Alexander as he dazzled 3rd, 4th and 5th graders with a magical start to 2023. He was joined by award winning (and local) artist and illustrator, Dare Coulter, as they kicked off their book tour for An American Story.
