We joined the good folks at Hargraves Community Center to work with their campers in both 2D and 3D, in both reality and the imaginary. We started with creating streetscapes out of simple geometric shapes. These young creatives quickly got into the details of their designs, articulating the form and function of the paper architecture.
Then we moved into three dimensions, using Legos and imagination as our mediums. The campers learned about a variety of influences on architecture, including biophilic design and catenary arches. They created structures out of Legos and brought the structures to life with descriptions of their program, context, and style.
